Here is a copy of my email to Downer today.

Dear Mr Downer,



I am sure that if your children were trapped in New Orleans you would have had them rescued before now regardless of what BUSH had to say!



If some TV reporters can go into New Orleans on a daily basis and rescue some of our citizens then why cant you organize some security men to go in and rescue every single Australian?



You are happy to invade IRAQ to rescue their citizens without the permission of the then government. Why cant you rescue Australians that are being mistreated at the hands of BUSH?



Shame on you Mr Downer for allowing our citizens to be subject to this danger. Please see the light and act as if you were saving your own family.
