the interest free was provided by GE Finance, or companies since taken over by GE, interest rate of 33 % plus made for a very very expensive purchase.
I think a lot got caught if they did not pay on time and it then became not interest free but interest at a very high rate.
Also gave GE an entrance to the OZ market
I agree about the interest to get them in. They caught the poor people imo. *I think they also went into regional areas where there was/is not much competition.
