    It seems that you didnt understand my post.

    I will try to explain it more simply for you.

    Katrina: 90,000 square miles badly effected
    Land Area of UK: 240,000 quare miles

    This is a comparison of land area (land area is often measured in square miles) to show the scale of the disaster comparing it to the entire land area of UK (UK=United Kingdom is a country, please consult a map if in doubt of the country I am referring to.)

    If half the of UK was inundated as was the massive land area effected by Katrina, it is quite likely that the UK, or any country, would have trouble mobilizing to manage the disaster.

    Please note this is as an example only, the UK has not been flooded, or had a disaster at least as far as I am aware, so do not be alarmed.
