    Time to resurrect this thread.

From update 11, says it all.

"Logging results coupled with gas shows while drilling indicates the Baong sands are gas saturated. Image logs show the Baong sands to be finely laminated with significant fracturing. A dual packer MDT was run which confirmed the reservoir has matrix permeability."

Gurame is being tarnished by the Heron brush. The HPHT conditions at the much deeper Heron, not to mention uncased bottom-hole section, meant that it was impossible to run wireline logs, let alone run formation image logs, such as those run at Gurame.

DM was very clear when referring to FMI at Gurame, "I can tell you, it is highly fractured". We know the formation is gas saturated, there is primary (fractures) and secondary (matrix) permeability, therefore this well should definitely flow. Gurame is a conventional well, whereas getting Heron to work is going to require some unconventional technologies.

Everyone understands how important this well is, but I suspect, many are treating this well much more cautiously than is technically justified (emotion vs sentiment).
