Patersons Securities analyst Andrew Harrington said the decision is a "major catalyst" for the company's share price.

"Many investors have been overly concerned about political risk in Malaysia and this now clears the last obstacle for Lynas to begin operating their rare earths plant," he said.

"We have always been confident that the approvals in Malaysia were a matter of 'when' not 'if', especially since the government lobbied to attract the plant to the country and granted Lynas a 12 year tax holiday as an incentive. We retain our 'buy' recommendation with a price target of $2.90 per share."


I just hope their followers didn't listen to them too much.
