A classic lesson in how the market really works is happening here today.
When CCU tanked recently, - journos would say plunged, slumped, or crashed, - most people took the fundamentals apart and came up with reasons why it would go up down or sideways. Quite reasonably and rationally.
So, fundamentally speaking, silver had its biggest one day fall for ages last night, minus 4%. So naturally CCU will be down today, - ha! wait a minute, its up strongly well bid and with volume.
Why? A rumour, guesswork, something totally intangible took hold of trader's minds, - the power of sentiment.
Which is why I spend almost all of my time trying to assess sentiment rather than poring over figures and fundamentals.
I've made a study of this 'science' and the hardest part is assessing just what is affecting sentiment at any one time. It moves around at lightning speed.
