Acorn, if you read my post clearly, I think that I was referring to the proximity of PEP170 and Pep172 to the production PLANT that BHP is proposing to expand.
IF ICN was to be allowed to and ultimately find gas in those leases, they would have a production plant virtually on their site to enable it to be exploited quickly and cheaply. Compare having that infrastructure on your back door to the problems being experienced in the West.

Your gross mis"interpretation" and mis-representation of my "mischievous" post is THE "skuttlebut" Acorn and, again, it just makes one wonder why anyone even bothers to do any research for this forum.

Nothing in my posts is MY OPINION, I just research it from what is on the public record and allow others to make their own deductions. I have very little to gain from ST movements on the ASX and am happy to wait for the ultimate RESULTS that cannot be refuted.

This forum should be called the "ANTI ICN" forum and I can't wait to see the sceptics and knockers have to eat their words. Not long to wait and yes, that is my opinion.

I'd rather believe what is on Page 11 of ICN's 2011 A.R. that says "Members of the technical staff at Icon Energy have assessed PEP170 and are of the opinion that it is highly prospective for tight gas which could be produced commercially with the right development options. PEP170 is also prospective for oil in the shallow LaTrobe Group which is the oil reservoir found in the offshore producing fields in the Gippsland Basin.

And, yes, the Victorian government's moratorium IS very current and ICN is in negotiations with them to see if they can proceed to work in PEP170 and PEP172.

Beach is also very interesed in this area and is also waiting for that moratorium to be lifted.
But PEP 170 and PEP172 are chicken feed in ICN's overall plan, but, another 1TCF wouldn't go astray.

But, I'm delighted to hear that "you think that Icon will go alright in the Cooper" Just M.O., but I think that you might just be right with that one and its nice to close on an agreeable note.
