    Marco, Rievax is spot on, unlike yourself. I will try one more time to explain decimal currency, and why $0.05 is the same as 0.05c. In currency the interpunct isn't used as a mathematical "decimal".

    In some currencies you'll actually see the currency symbol used as the interpunct.

    Generally it is denoting the left side as dollar units, the right side as cents units. This is why the dollar sign usually is used as a prefix and the cents as a suffix.

    For monetary values represented in text, a decimal placing always denotes a dollar value. But $0.05 and 0.05¢ are the same.

    This is what I was taught in school, tertiary business studies, and in accounting.

    Realistically, if you wanted to argue your point, ¢0.05 would be 0.05 cents. But you never bothered to wonder why the ¢ is suffixed, did you? All currency signs are placed in front of the figure...oh except for cents because...it's just different. Right? Unbelievable!

    0.005c IS the same as $0.005

    Monetary values with a decimal place are always representative of dollars. The $ or c there are only complimentary values. Cents can certainly be presented as its own value, but as soon as a decimal point is placed, the value becomes presentative of dollars.

    50c = 50 cents
    $0.50 = 50 cents
    $0.50c = 50 cents
    0.50c = 50 cents
    .50c = 50 cents
    $0.05 = 5 cents
    0.05c = 5 cents
    If I were to verbally say "0.50 cents", yes that would mean one half of a cent. But in written form, it's 50 cents.

    Seriously Marco, they teach you this in Grade 1—at least that's when I was taught.

    This is it Marco, no more tuition, you either get it or you do not. You can post as many childish remarks as you wish, but these are the simple facts.
