Hi Sushi1 You are wrong The Range selector on this type of rifle was aimed at maybe a 60 degree range pointed up in the air. Advancincing troops at that stage could not see the enemy Thousands of troops doing this day by day until they got to Close Encounter and then these same rifles were fitted with Bayonets As Cadets we trained with them and were then allowed to take them home. Wars should be decided by the Pollies and let them use whatever weapons they choose . I had respect for my Rifles and Guns No One was allowed to touch or use them apart from my children who also learned Respect
