The 2 posts above me are an example of the way the gun nuts in the US view the situation. A spoon's main function is not as a weapon, neither is a match. Of course anybody can use a variety of tools to kill people, but that would take a psychopath. With a lack of gun controls and a nation that still thinks the Indians are circling around their wagons, the killing is done by disturbed individuals. The same kid living in Sydney would probably have just chucked a tanty.
There's a big difference between being able to kill like Jack the Ripper and turning up with a semi auto, closing your eyes and pulling the trigger.
A gun has no function other than to kill or wound. Some guy thought that was wrong, and added hunting. I had to point out that hunting was killing. Another said that he needed the extra large magazine clips, because they're good for target practice.
Reading comments on US sites is a real eye opener. They argue against facts and common sense. Gun controls don't lower gun crime they say. Well actually they do, it's proven.
There is absolutely no reason for any civilian weapons except for rifles and shotguns in rural communities.
