    Answer me this:

What's the difference between 27 kids dieing through the acts of a gunman versus 27 kids dieing in a school bus crash?

    1) The bus crash is most likely an accident.
    2) The shooting is not an accident.

Result is the same 27 kids die.

Now what would be the knee jerk if the bus crash was on purpose by a mentally ill, crazy person? (In essence the same as the school gunman)

Fact is we / the media have a fascination for death caused by someone else. It's not the deaths that we are interested in. As I said in another thread, had a school bus killed 27 kids driving accidentally off a road in South America it would have got 2 minutes mention in the evening news and that's it.

Do activist groups rally to get rid of buses? Do they rally for harder driving tests? Do they scream blue murder? No.

You can argue both sides. No guns, everyone with guns, or just some with guns. Imagine Port Arthur, imagine if someone there had a gun and had the training required to kill Bryant before he went on his unopposed killing spree.

If you lost a loved one at Port Arthur, I bet you would have wanted someone to take action. Could have been a Ranger or a citizen. So in that case "guns" would have saved lives.

Get use to death, there's going to be a lot more of it before we're finished.
