Over 75% of the deals I've done on the Biotech side, have closed in December, because these type of tech platform evaluation deals actually get paid out of relatively small budgets, and the guys/girls making the decisions need to spend all the money, and so when they have $1-3M extra (enough to cover an upfront and 1-2 years of R&D funding), they put them toward deals like this, where some people in the group, usually driven by the scientists, think the platform is worth taking a flyer on, and the business people say...ok, because there is the remaining budget for it and no other priorities on the table for the year. I would argue that most of the deals are done end of year when they are on companies that don't necessary lead in PR or are being promoted from the top down. So I think there is a....dare I say GOOD CHANCE...that Pyc could have something now signed, but can't release the news until press release is approved. Agree again with Peace, hope they learned from last time, and consider more the "when" in releasing any new deals news, instead of thinking "ASAP" is the best policy. Besides your financial releases, your news releases are critical and timing, as has been said here many times by actual investors, can be as important as what you actually release. I don't think they will make the same mistake again.
