    Hi Hanrahan

The Island is something like 60km long and 20-25km wide and I'm sure it wont be hard to select a site or sites largely out of the way.

With a population of something like 1700 it shouldn't stretch the project profits to supply some baseload power night and day to the King Island community ... a win win I'd say.

Now each to their own, but I think wind farms have an amazing aesthetic ... the sheer size of tower and blades, the beautiful functionality of wind power ... the endless supply of completely carbonless energy ... scenes having the surrealism of a Salvadore Dali landscape.

One of the most amazing sights in my life was on a drive from Barcelona to Madrid across a huge central plateau where for hours of driving there were wind turbines as far as the eye could see into the distance on both side of the road ... it was staggering ... and imo breathtakingly beautful for all the above reasons.

Wind energy would play to the pristine, green paradise that is King Island ... power forever with no pollution ... to me it would add to the reasons to visit the Island.

Now for some lateral thinking ...

King Island Dairy could add slogans/comments saying their cheeses, yoghurts, butters etc are the purest on earth, using only wind energy in production.

And for something a little light hearted, imagine the tourist attraction if the towers could be fashioned in the form of those enigmatic Easter Island statues 8))

    The project has my support.

    Dex
