Sorry for the disappointment but power bills over there are nearly the same as they are here (15-20¢ kWh) - if you live the same lifestyle. Varies from province to province....but it isn't cheap anywhere. Valencia, outside Dumaguete, cuts the bill some slack with a decent discount as part of the geo-thermal energy the company extracts locally and on-sells. Altitude is high enough to cut a couple degrees off the tropic heat too. Take your point though...most other living costs are miles lower than here in Oz...
