It has been stated that the figures are based only on rifles in comparison to a hammer/club senario.
Hammers are a form of club in a different design to stike a bow of force.Handguns are a different form of a rifle but do the job as per the same in firing a bullet projectile. One is a longer extention of the other but serves the same purpose of its intent.
The same can be said for a hammer/club design is different but for the same purpose of intent of use, to strike a blow of force.
Handguns are concealable because of their size as much as hammers are. Clubs and rifles are not so consealable because of their size.
FBI figures are rubbery and are not in reality comparing apples with apples.
