Reminiscing, but I can remember 2.5 years ago Chihawk and I were discussing the risk in the LAMP tech. particularly as no one had scaled this size and no one had built in the environ controls ground up.
Have to admit it was me querying and Chihawk expressing confidence but he still put the query to NC at the Q briefing.
NC was totally confident Rhodia could successfully transplant the Chinese tech to the LAMP and it's fantastic to see that delivered above spec, at this stage.
Still got a way to go thru the SX phase but the news has to provide great confidence the LAMP can realise, or better, anticipated cost structure.
Not only important to match, or better, current competition but vital for a plant with an anticipated 25+ year working life, particularly with Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) technology looking promising.
