they no doubt feel aggrieved - like they've got no justice, so they are pursuing it elsewhere. I wouldn't say it's just about money.
It does seem odd that people can get into a fight - someone dies - and the 'offender' can walk away scot free. Doesn't seem quite right does it? Not as if the fight was purely self-defense? People in crowd control situations are there precisely to put out fires, not to terminate the opposition.
If someone gets attacked out of the blue - say a home invasion - then ok, the offender gets what's coming. But a pub brawl?
