I don’t think anyone is knocking Abbotts volunteer work, I commend him for it but clearly at the moment it is being used to try and improve his image.
There are thousand and thousands of people that do volunteer and charity work but as some one else pointed out we don’t get them tweeting they are about to do so, issuing media statements and getting photographed.
If anything this along with the interview with his staffer on her IVF treatment, Pyne on same, Abbotts wife’s speech and the duplicate Bishop & Pyne “the Tony Abbott I know” speech are all bland attempts to improve the image of one “I’ll do anything to become PM” Abbott.
The one thing that Abbott has not done since becoming leader of the Lib’s 4 years ago is demonstrate he is a credible alternative PM which would be the main reason he is so unpopular.
The Abbott supporters here apart from being very faithful don’t do him any favours as they simply can’t come up with a decent argument as to how why Abbott is a creditable alternative PM. Just because you don’t like Gillard doesn’t do it, Abbotts volunteer work doesn’t do it and while being a Rhodes scholar would suggest a high level of education and intelligence Abbott fails to articulate that.
This is not a personal attack on abbott, it's an evaluation on the current alternative PM.
