Mali was a French colony its a wonder they never found the gold - there's about 6000 French living there. You have to wonder whether they will get control of the north as there is nothing there. I guess they will retake the towns (not many to capture actually) and then hope the flow of weapons from Libya etc has dried up now and a decent army and stable government be rebuilt. At the end of the day if any risk of nationalisation of the mines is gone then whoever is in govt will want us running the mine and paying royalties. I'd say this will sort out the sovereign risk if a stable govt is established so happy days.
