I think he is referring to a possible US default on its debt obligations - not a QBE default on it US business.
At this stage any US default on its debt obligations would be very much a temporary thing and not really affect QBE. It would, of course, cause a severe hiccup in stock values and share trading but would. I believe, be quickly rectified.
