i guess the most encouraging thing about todays rise, is that it highlights the pent up demand for QBE, and that people don't want to be left on the sidelines when it does rebound. I also hope that some of the buying represents an endorsement of the approach that John Neal is taking - Ie consolidation over expansion.
we could be in the start of the re-rating, but i think the market will like to see the back of last years results, so that we have a low forward PE, and also sustained growth - and hopefully a more positive outlook.
i am onboard with jossettes earlier comments here, that a benign catastrophic claim year could see QBE in a large upswing, and am feeling confident in the turnaround story.
