I used to live in AW, I grew up on a farm here, so am quite familiar with it, then lived in Toorak for 25 years, moved back here in 2011. I was spending a week in Albury, and a week in Melbourne for almost 2 years before I moved back here. I love both places, but that was a very hectic period. I moved back to be close to my beautiful daughter, but she was tragically killed less than a year later. I live within walking distance of the CBD.
I used to love the train to travel around, but they stuffed up the service late 2007, so now I use the car. I have visited AW regularly the whole time while living away, as I had family and interests here.
It is classified as inland, not the coast. I believe it is roughly 400klms from the coast as the crow flies.
Lets agree to disagree on the pros and cons of AW.
It is like the 8 blind men and the elephant, we all have a different view of the place. cheers
