It's unfortunate that more and more of our population are becoming dependant on and feel entitled to be supported totally by the government.
we have an unemployment rate of 5.5.% which is very low. It means those who want to work can ( and I mean really want to work, not I'll only work if I get the perfect job).
If we make social security payments too generous the unfortunate consequence is more and more people will settle for becoming dependant on the government, rather than entering the workforce for an only fractional better outcome.
We need to wake up that we are competing in a globalized world now, already our productivity is shot to bits, we're hanging in there due to the dumb luck of the Chinese rapid economic rise and demand for commodities. A reality check is required for those expecting neverending welfare support from the government.
