Lets stop the uncle Warren talk. Every time you read an article on airline investment that book is thrown at you.
Airlines are profitable investments provided you buy at the right time of the cycle. It requires an investor to be 'flighty' - so you have to sell your shares into the cycle when it moves in your favour. Smaller investors can do this as shares can be easily liquidated. Uncle Warren cannot do this as when he buys he owns a large portion of the company.
