They are a natural part of an economic cycle. It purges malinvestment, revalues assets to what is 'sustainable' and detoxifies the horizon if you like. Then firmer hands pick up the pieces, with smarter heads than you or I and you begin a bull market with much firmer roots than one propped up by money printed out of thin air.
