    Re your post which included;
    "... Abbott probably has a mortgage in his mid 50s (admittedly not ideal) because he has upgraded. To do this on Sydney's Northern Beaches where Tony lives, would mean going from entry level house @ say $1.2 mill to next mid-range bracket, say $2.4 mill. ..."

    You guys are just digging an even deeper economic non-credibility trench for Tony Abbott.

    Are you now suggesting that a political leader who was a cabinet member for years and therefore knew all about property bubbles and the high risk of an approaching economic tsunami, would take a deeper plunge into debt by speculating even more in a highly cooked property investment?

    Most posters have acknowledged that cars are rapidly depreciating assets. So why does Abbott need three of the suckers when he has to pay for them via loans and has access to Comcars?

    Since Abbott chose to make such matters public I can't help but think that he hasn't revealed some of his major expenses - I wonder if he's forked out big time for his girls' education and drives a massive gas-guzzling Range Rover 4WD with a 6L engine, great big bullbar, bike racks and surfboard attached?

    Of course! That would reveal a vested interest in providing even greater public funding to the private education system at the expense of the public system he regards as being very well funded.
