    Thanks for the response!

You appear to have forgotten that Peter Costello flagged the approaching 'economic tsunami' throughout the 2007 election campaign; Tony Abbott was in Cabinet with him!

Steve Keen would take issue with you denial of the property bubble in Sydney - as would most economists!

I agree that buying your home is not speculation but upgrading when the market is at a top is at best financially risky.

We will have to disagree about education funding. My insider knowledge is at the other end of the spectrum from the one you described - in Victoria Ted Baillieu is about to assist funding Catholic schools in growth areas where he has no plans to build public ones!

As for Labor pollies sending their kids to Catholic schools; you're spoton! Sadly they are not the only ones who have turned their backs on public schools.

Small wonder that pollies who send their kids to private schools are strangling public education while bankrolling the private system.

At least in the UK David Cameron has made a huge statement by publicly declaring that his kids will attend public schools. no such luck in increasingly divided Australia.
