With the likes of Dow chemicals lobbying to stop LNG exports I don't think US LNG exports are going to influence global prices in a hurry. The US need only look at what is happening in Qld to industrial gas consumers like Incitec and it will become clear if they want to compete across a wide range of export industries over the next 20 years then they need to keep nat gas prices down .. Strategically the US also needs to hold onto their nat gas and not deplete it prematurely by shipping it to Asia..With the middle east still lurching toward extremism and China bristling over the South China sea, the stakes are very high indeed. With all these issues underlining why it would be unwise to export cheap nat gas, I think democrats and republicans might agree for once and block exports.
