Batavia Mining Limited has now two areas of interest, the Gullewa Project, and the recently acquired portfolio of Uranium exploration tenements in the Northern Territory.

    Gullewa Project

The Deflector Deposit at Gullewa is in an advanced stage of exploration, during 2004 an intensive drilling programme was undertaken, which significantly increased the mineral resource by 150%, from 132,000 to 323,000 oz Au Eq.

A Bankable Feasibility Study was expedited, but the earlier successful metallurgical testwork completed on the oxide, and transitional zones of mineralisation could not be repeated. Consequently the Bankable Feasibility Study could not be progressed until a consistent metallurgical response could be achieved. In February 2005, existing primary zone core was cut, and a new drilling campaign was undertaken to collect fresh samples from the oxide and transitional zones in order to commence a new comprehensive metallurgical testwork programme.

The testwork on the primary zone completed in late June 2005 was again successful, producing consistent high copper and gold recoveries and grades. The process flowsheet has been identified, and further work is planned is to satisfy Feasibility Study requirements and sizing for vendor equipment. Metallurgical testwork commenced on the oxide and transitional zones in June 2005.

The strategy going forward for the Gullewa Project is to increase the Deflector Deposit mineral resource by drilling targets down to 400 metres in vertical depth, and to test other Deflector Deposit lodes. The drilling commenced in early July 2005. It is also planned to continue the current metallurgical testwork programme on the oxide, transitional and primary zones.

Upon a successful metallurgical outcome and mineral resource upgrade, completion of the Feasibility Study will be commenced.

    Uranium Portfolio

Batavia has recently announced that it had entered into an agreement and lodged applications to secure a portfolio of uranium projects in the Northern Territory of Australia.

The project portfolio – which includes the Harts Range Uranium Project in the Arunta Province of the Northern Territory and a number of prospective exploration areas – represents a significant new strategic asset for Batavia.

Batavia has also acquired a comprehensive database of historical uranium exploration information, both within the tenement areas and on a regional scale throughout the Northern Territory, WA and SA.

Negotiations are also underway to acquire or farm into various other additional uranium prospects.

Batavia has retained the services of an exploration geologist with uranium experience and a geophysicist to plan and implement a comprehensive uranium exploration review.

Upon completion of the review, a field work program will be developed for commencement in the December 2005 Quarter.
