Why the shouting? Anyway makes me think of a thread awhile back ( maybe around the time of the Queensland floods before this lot) regarding 100 year events and the likelihood of them happening. There was a bit if confusion back then about the stats behind the risk of such events happening in any one year . Basically just because there was extreme floods a few years ago doesn't preclude them from happening this year .. Ie the probability essentially is the same. So whilst it may appear to be something worth shouting about it isn't necessarily so... Although if you consider two hundred year events(not saying these floods are, just using as an example) happening within a few years without understanding the maths behind it then it may very well seem like the sky is falling.
Then again it could be something changing but my point is that 2 such extreme events in itself is not proof of anything
