In regards to a small number of parents paying the money to the school might be a better option, but certainly not for most parents who do spend it all and a lot more on their kids. For some of you right wingers here to be saying otherwise is a terrible insult to most parents.
But it's a moot point as the Abbott Liberals are not offering this alternative.
Harvey Norman spending rising a bit is to be expected since they sell some things required by students. No doubt a number of similar retailers sales would rise due to the school kids bonus.
The Liberals policy will just cause hurt across the board and lose them a few more votes.
