I wrote an e-mail to Paddy Manning today pointing out that UCG coal gas has less emissions than conventianlly mined coal and asked if the figure he quoted from the 2001 CSIRO paper from upstream greenhouse emissions was from conventionally mined coal. I asked him nicely to look into it further so maybe we will get a follow up article if we are lucky....

I also pointed him at the Wyoming EOR project to look at how Linc propose to capture and sequester CO2 emissions that are produced. I thought his article was balanced but this is a complex topic and he may not have appreciated some of the advances Linc have made.
