Have we had a lot of rain in Qld? Is it "abnormally wet"? In Townsville we have had two wet days even though the wet season is nearly half way through.
Monsoonal weather is notoriously patchy. In '98 we had a small depression sat over Rollingstone all night. By morning we were swimming. Nobody else noticed.
It is absurd to say that a seasonal monsoon event is somehow due to anything other than weather. There is no "pattern" no "normal" there is just rain, or no rain.
