Looks like they wont have a pit water issue but even if they did have some water in the pit , its no big deal and is a common issue in open cut mines. Pit water can be used to provide process water. A win-win.

Hydro-geological modelling is a standard process for all mines when they undertake their EIS and the people at Rex will be on top of this issue if it was a real one.

Up north in tropical areas monsoonal rainfall can impact open-cut production temporarily with pit water issues but normal water table water is not flooding in like a hydro dam through the rocks is a steady rate slow flow.
