Expected you to show up timber,
Firstly,I never wrote it and do not entirely agree with all of it.
However, one thing I do agree with and that is the Gold is ours and belongs here and not in some far of country that has very little to do with AUSTRALIA even though by default we are still categorised as part of the Commonwealth.
And how do you deliver the gold if you are holding it in Sydney?
Much easier to ship it to our biggest trading partner China than from the Englands Bankvaults. Afterall this weekend ushers in "The Year of The Snake". If we were to sell it or lease it out the Asian market is at our doorstep. Not 17,000klm away.
Whilst I don't think anything would save us from a fullblown global currency crisis or more to the point a Global Financial Crash, to my way of thinking is you store your assets as close to home as possible and trust no one.
At todays going rate of $1620oz and 80 metric tons sitting in a far of country and giving us a worthless IOU.
Your right, its a relic that for every day that passes we have less chance of ever seeing it return back to its rightful owners.
Don't know about you, but I was taught that when you loaned out money be prepared to lose it. The longer it remains an IOU the harder it is to get it back.
You ask "How is it going to save us if a crash were to happen?" Suppose I could ask the same question when it is sitting in an English Bank Vault. At least here, our World class know it all Treasurer could sit in the vault counting the Gold Bars playing a fiddle while the rest of Australia is gyrating.
Nothing has changed.
Timber, one thing I dislike and that is how easily this country of ours has given away our resources, our property, our food bowl, and including our rights as citizens by allowing politicians to be influenced by the Global Mantra and bringing in a one world government to save the day. It doesn't wash with me.
This is the right time for Australia to be repatriating their Gold. If it sits in a Sydney vault for the next 50 or a 100 years, I don't particularly care.
I want what is ours and citizens should be standing firm on not being bullied on how we live.
To the Government, I say F em.
Cheers markco2
