Quite scary to hear of folk punting their super on a mid cap iron ore punt like AGO. I'm a holder like everyone else so I hope you have a win but geez...
Surely those blue chips that were offering a fully franked 7% or higher are a no-brainer for SMSF, surely it's worth at least hedging your SMSF in those stocks & most of them (e.g big banks, TLS) are up a motza compared to resources stocks in general.
Sorry I don't mean to preach or hijack the thread but I really think it's worth highlighting to all aspiring SMSF punters that locking in a modest yield us waaaaayyyy more effective than punting one's retirement funds even though it doesn't sound as sexy.
