    westcott,

I guess that's what you have to weigh up as an investor.

You have official SDL ASX announcements via the FAQ stating that no one else has put their hand up but the Chinese, and that the Chinese debt market is the likely funder of the project. The FAQ also talked about Chinese/African relationships, and made mention that the Africans are major stakeholders in this project as well (i.e. they have a major say in how this is going to be developed). You have quotes from African officials about them being happy the Chinese are onboard. You have PC, the CFO of SDL, saying that the deal is close to being completed and that he is moving on in May. You have the NDRC saying that Hanlong is still the preferred suitor for SDL, and that a Chinese SOE is being brought in to underpin the bid. You have Affero already being told by the Cameroon Government that they will not be contributing equity to the initial infrastructure CAPEX, and that they will be paying haulage rates.

Then on the other hand you have a vague reference from the AFR, with no source attributed, that there may be one or two interested parties hanging around to see what happens with the Hanlong bid.

Take a step back, weigh up the information available, and assess which outcome you think is more likely. The takeover, or a JV with Core.
