I'm hardly an expert on these things but I think the idea of those revolving containers though is that they will only open when they are inside the ship to minimise dust. I guess that wasn't seen in the trial.
I saw some comments somewhere about the ship itself protecting the crane from the swell in moderate conditions at least.
There are much more, much! more technical posters about than me. Any comments?
