I'm pretty new to the forum and have been trading CFDs for a bit now.
I want to get some ideas as to what a common/useful/successful strategy with dividend payments is on CFD positions.
I am currently long CBA via a CFD and want to get an idea of whether to take my profits to date prior to ex-div next week or wait it out, receive my dividend (without franking credits), and and close the postion next week.
I've not been in a CFD postion at ex-div date before. Also, I am not in the trade for long term reasons and plan to either close this week or early next week and am interested in what other traders experience has been.
Other information I have come across basically states it will depend based on what the market does for CBA but I would be keen to hear if anyone has more experience here and a strategy that has shown success over a number of trades.
