PRINCIPAL ACTIVITY
Sunbird Energy Ltd (SNY) is an engaged in exploration and development of CBM and unconventional gas projects in Southern Africa. SNY has entered into agreements to acquire a portfolio of CBM projects in South Africa and Botswana, covering an area of 8,647 sqkm. SNY has three lead projects namely Ermelo Project, Mopane Project and Kasane Project.
ERMELO PROJECT: The project is located 200 km SE of Johannesburg within the Witbank coal mining region. The licence area of 1,443sqkm covers the Ermelo Exploration Right and the Ermelo West Application. Five target coals seams with a range of net coal thickness from 6m to 15m. The Ermelo permit provides a Best Estimate GIP of 0.35 Tcf, with GIP ranging from a Low Estimate of 0.08 Tcf to a High Estimate of 1.53 Tcf. The Ermelo West application provides a Best Estimate GIP of 0.45 Tcf, with GIP ranging from a Low Estimate of 0.10 Tcf to a High Estimate of 1.92 Tcf. SNY is planning to undertake a 6 core hole drilling program in 2012 to define the CBM resource within the area.
MOPANE PROJECT: The project is located in the Limpopo Province approximately 420 km NE of Johannesburg - within the Mopane Coalfield and on the western limit of the shallower Tshipise Coalfield. The licence area covers 1,577sqkm under the Mopane Exploration Right. CBM targets will be the coal-shale sequences which arelikely to be developed from 400m below surface. Best Estimate GIP of 1.90 Tcf, with GIP ranging from a Low Estimate of 0.18 Tcf to a High Estimate of 13.66 Tcf.SNY is undertaking an aeromagnetic survey in late 2011 and planning to
conduct a 6 core hole drilling program in 2012 to define the CBM resource within
the area.
KASANE PROJECT: The project is located in northern Botswana, south of the town of Kasane in the Kalahari Karoo Basin and includes eight permits covering
4,162sqkm. Best Estimate GIP of 1.81 Tcf, with GIP ranging from a Low Estimate of 0.04 Tcf to a High Estimate of 9.75 Tcf.
SNY is undertaking a desktop review of existing geological and geophysical data and the reinterpretation of an aeromagnetic survey in early 2012 followed by a 2 core hole drilling program to define the CBM resource within the area.
seems to be flying under the radar.
100MM issued shares with some options.
roughly $22MM market cap.
compared with potential upside, that $22MM is microscopic tiny.
from where i'm sitting looks like a good LTB.
