dex, to counter dbl, i'm also a LAME at qantas, the demeanor of the staff is still that of maintaining utmost professionalism. no one i know purposely goes out of their way to act otherwise, its been the same culture for years.

what has changed is the hate toward the management who have all but destroyed an airline that was gifted to them. the airframes, infrastructure, marketshare, developed staff, all aspects of the airline were gifted to the them.

all they have managed to do since privatisation is progressively shut it down which has been accelerating at a rapid pace in the last 2 years. point out otherwise. look at a qantas route map from 1970 and compare it to today, its pathetic.

so yes, when management on one hand say we need to sack 204 of you in sydney becauase there is not enough work to justify the numbers, then call all and sundry to do overtime on their days off, non stop for the last 2 months, because there is too much work, 1 + 1 =/= 2

so no we don't trust them, we still act professionally in SPITE of the management, not because of them. at least they could tell the truth and let the world know they want to strip the guts of qantas, transfer the funds to 6 jetstar franchises then pick up the scraps when it all falls in a heap. the slow motion wreck happening in front of everyones eyes will look so blatant in 10 years time.
