How do you think the big boys make money? Buy at 46c and sell at 23c? They first create the scenario that all is gloom and doom. Then when the small players are scared to sell, they soak them up. Yes, NLX is down but people are still buying in hundreds of thousands.
There are different ways to trade the market but from my own experience, I made the most money from ORI bought around $4, ALL around $1.9, SFE around $3,5 and AOE around 8c when nobody wanted them, just like NLX now. Whereas short-term trading the swings of BHP all the way from $8 to $21, I lost money.
I bought NLX around 26c and I think the worse is behind it and hopefully one day I can put it on my big win list.
Others in the same category are AMC and NAB (I bought at $27 but still can be accumulated now). I missed out on Ansell (scared to sell at one stage).
With brokers, when they all recommend a sell, start to buy. When they all recommend strong buys, expect a big drop after that. You have to do your own research and find your own reason to buy or sell a stock. From experience, brokers often bite the hands that feed them.
