I have been in and out of ICG which is also a porphyry play so I have done a lot of research on these geological structures.. VOR's ANN today also caused excitement based upon references to a porphyry.
Basically a porphyry is the (now cold) mineralised magma core of a long dead volcano usually with many breccia mineralised pipes leading up of it to surface.
They are often deep but at the same time huge so you get enormous amounts of lower grade, well worth mining.
It's the sort of thing majors are interested in if proven.
Just a thought as this is another potential arrow in MNM's quiver.
