Plenty of Australian miners all over West Africa working, pretty prospective ground, though the political landscape is ever changing.
I prefer PNG as an investment venue though, they have the occasional rush of blood to the head, BUT USUALLY , cooler heads prevail, they know the importance of mining to their country.
I did my dough on an Aussie company in Eritrea , where the company basically got their project stolen by the government , and given to the Chinese as a reward for political support.
At least,security of tenure hasn't mostly been the case in PNG ( touch wood )
