Don't normally post and my response is more relevant to the earlier questions but thought I'd add my 2c as I just got back from 2 years living in the UK (South west London).

It seemed like there was an increase in advertising for this type of lending during the past 6 - 12 months. I don't know if I was imagining things but it seemed to noticeably increase. There was CCV, Wonga and one other who's name escapes me who advertised during sport (online lender) that I noticed.

While you would think payday lenders would be common over there, I certainly didn't see them around very often (not that I was searching). What surprised me about London was that wages are fairly low for the majority of people there and it just appeared to me that the culture is perfect for this type of short term lending. This is actually why I bought in when I first saw CCV's UK growth (before I noticed the advertising).

Anyway just some thoughts from a London perspective.
