perhaps I missunderstood your advice.
sure.. if things go pear shaped, and if you continue to average down... then yes... you are wiped out.
My point is that this assumes you put everything into this one stock... or that you do this for every stock and they all go pear shaped.
that's a lot of if's... it's easy to avoid if you simply don't do all of those things.
Averaging down into one select stock will not wipe you out as long as you don't 'bet the house'.
