No it is not. It is an "attack" on someone trying to use their position to unduly influence someone else who happened to invite the Leader of the Opposition to a sports function.

Tim Matheison, as partner to Julia Gillard, is entitled to travel with her on official business, to live with her at the taxpayers expense, and to be given a protective detail as would any other partner of the Prime Minister or Leader of the Opposition would be entitled to.

Could you imagine the outrage (including from me) if Janette Howard had written to the CEO of the Western Bulldogs, demanding to have Julia Gillard banned from attending any of their sports functions??

We didn't elect Tim Matheison, he has no special standing in Australia other than he is Ms Gillards partner. He should pull his head in, and not try and get involved in politics other than supporting his partner in her endeavours.
