There is also the story a couple of days ago (relating to OFF shore gas fields) where Woodside is seriously considering:

"Looking at compressed natural gas (CNS) shipments within 2000 km of markets, including WA, where some deep water gas fields are a long way from current infrastructure. It also opens up smaller fields". (comment made by a Peter Coleman of Woodside).
Cost of CNS has come down considerably, when compared to the cost of LNG plants, apparently. The technology is being used/developed in the Middle east area, I believe the story stated.

You can google 'woodside petroleum and compressed natural gas story'. It was reported widely two days ago, by many media sources.

That is the wonderful thing about technology - it is always changing. Just like the technology push in the US to develop and use natural products for hydraulic fracking. That could be another game changer in the future, where objections to fracking are raised by environmental groups.
