options are strange they will always follow heads in some way but I have seen many options with long time until exercise trading below the head price - ex.. for example AZYOA is an 8c exercise in 2015 and it trades 10c below AZY..
Yet when TTE had TTEO last year, TTEO always had a 0.1c to 0.2c premium right up until 2months prior to exercise.
