re: isidoro bid to destabilise indonesia: pm banjar,
While I believe that at the present time you are strictly correct, that these attacks in Indonesia are about domestic politics, from what I understand this is just the initial stages of what they plan to do.
As I think I posted before, the planning seems to go something along these lines:
1/ Establishment of an is*lamic state in Indonesia
2/ Extension of this i is*lamic state to nearby countries including Australia by whatever means make sense including infiltration, terrorism and open urban warfare.
The current activities seem to be aimed at destabilization of the current government so that JI and related groups have a chance of establishing a sharia law state in Indonesia.
Ensuring that foreigners do not feel safe going to Indonesia and ensuring that Indonesian businesses and population are islolated from all foreign influences, role models and tourism cashflow removes and reduces alternatives to the indonesian population.
It also will help to make the saudi funding for the extremism more attractive to those whose cash flows have suddenly dissapeared and stretch the saudi dollar further.
But remember this is just stage one. Much as they did in afganistan, these groups want to secure the country, the cash flows from the various businesses and resources, and the population for an assault on nearby countries.
While you may currently dismiss this attack as a domestic issue, it will soon be playing in full savagery in a theater close by to you if we dont get involved in helping the Indonesians who are opposed to this monstrosity to destroy it now.
